To mark International Day of Science for Sustainable Development, the Council of Young Scientists of the Scientific and Technological Complex «Institute of Single Crystals» of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine held an online workshop entitled «Presenting Yourself and Your Scientific Research».
The main goal of the event was to help young scientists confidently present the results of their work, develop professional skills, and integrate into the international scientific community. After all, the ability to talk about one's scientific achievements in a simple, structured, and convincing manner is the key to participating in grant programs and international projects, forming a professional image, and establishing interdisciplinary cooperation.
That is why the issues of creating presentations, promoting scientific ideas, and competently designing a research profile (CV, presentation materials, communication with the audience) became central during the workshop.
The speakers of the event were:
Yryna Bespalova, Doctor of Science;
Polina Pisklova, PhD;
Olesia Kulyk, PhD.
The experts shared practical advice on:
• building a logical and effective presentation;
• presenting complex scientific results in an understandable form;
• creating visually appealing and meaningful slides;
• techniques for popularizing research for different audiences.
A separate section was devoted to the rules for preparing a professional CV that demonstrates the real achievements of a young scientist and helps to shape a successful career path.
The meeting was moderated by Margarita Chernyakova, PhD, chair of the NTK Young Scientists Council, who kept the discussion lively and encouraged participants to actively ask questions and interact with the speakers.
