On February 16, a working meeting of specialists from the recently established Pharmaceutical Cluster in Kharkiv and partners from the city’s leading scientific institutions was held at the State Scientific Institution “Institute for Single Crystals” of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. The meeting brought together representatives of the SSI “Institute for Single Crystals” of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Kharkiv National Medical University, the National Scientific Center “Hon. Prof. M.S. Bokarius Forensic Science Institute”, the Institute for Problems of Cryobiology and Cryomedicine of the NAS of Ukraine, and the Institute of Functional Materials Chemistry of the State Scientific Institution.

The participants discussed opportunities to expand cooperation between research institutions, universities, and the industrial sector.
The agenda included the creation of joint research groups, preparation of grant applications, and the launch of new applied projects in the fields of pharmacy, biomedicine, and biotechnology.
Promising areas for further development were identified, and inter-institutional and international projects were outlined as platforms for combining scientific potential, experimental facilities, and professional expertise.
The participants familiarised themselves with the activities, modern equipment, and capabilities of the new laboratory for medical and biological research in functional materials chemistry at the SSI.

The Pharmaceutical Cluster is not about formal meetings, but about systematic cooperation between science and education, as well as the implementation of joint research initiatives.
The integration of ideas, competencies, and technical resources creates the foundation for competitive Ukrainian innovations and strengthens Kharkiv’s position as one of the country’s leading scientific centers — even in wartime. This is also of strategic importance for our city.
